The most loved and most consumed food product around the world is Cheese! Be it health or taste, cheese faithfully enhances both. Have it as a snack along with wine or simply spread it over a slice of bread; either way, a slice of cheese is always a comfort. Early history

Surprising isn’t it to know that archaeological studies have shown that the origin of cheese dates as far back as 6000 BC! It is said that during that era cheese was originally made in Mesopotamia using cow and goat’s milk. Later during the Roman Empire, large roman houses had separate kitchens called careale, to manufacture cheese exclusively.

The cheese story

For one pound of cheese to be produced, it requires ten pounds of milk. Can you imagine how much of milk would be wasted if it wasn’t for cheese? We all know that cheese should be kept for a period of time before its ready to eat, but some varieties of cheese, like blue cheese, gorgonzola, and brie are exposed to mold (intentionally) which helps them age properly. What it takes to have a cheese tooth

Most of us might not have known that some varieties of cheese like mozzarella, cheddar, Swiss and American, can actually help prevent tooth decay! Cheese promotes the flow of saliva which leads to elimination of sugar and acids from the mouth.
